Benjamins Signal New Era With Johnson, Fornario at the Helm

By Cory Goodrich

Reading, Pennsylvania — The Pennsylvania Benjamins are entering the new Indoor Arena League season with a clear message: this is a franchise moving with purpose.

Head Coach Lee Johnson and General Manager Gregg Fornario are aligned at the top, emphasizing leadership, discipline, and competitive toughness as the foundation for 2026. In a league as fast and unforgiving as the IAL, culture and preparation often determine outcomes as much as talent.

Team officials say the standard inside the building has already shifted. Practices have sharpened. Accountability has increased. Expectations are higher.

“This staff isn’t here to play around,” a team source said. “They’re here to compete.”

The Benjamins believe their identity will reflect Pennsylvania’s football roots — physical, relentless, and built to win in tight spaces. With the IAL season approaching, the organization is urging fans to pack the arena from Week 1 and help establish one of the league’s toughest home environments.

The goal is simple.

Compete at the highest level in the IAL.

And build something that lasts. 💥🏈
